Hunters is situated in a Grade 2 listed building in the very centre of Helmsley. Helmsley is a beautiful, picture postcard market town on the edge of the North York Moors.
It’s an ideal place for a weekend away, full of historic architecture, a wide range of quality independent shops, and an excellent selection of award-winning accommodation, pubs, cafes and restaurants. Helmsley Castle towers over the town, and there’s visitor attractions including the International Centre for Birds of Prey and the Helmsley Walled Garden. We’ve even got our own open air swimming pool – one of just 100 left in the UK.
If you’re feeling energetic, you can use the town as a base to explore the North York Moors National Park, which is great for walking, cycling or horse riding. Helmsley marks the start of the Cleveland Way, which loops round the National Park to end up at the coast near Filey.
The Market Place, where Hunters is based, is the ideal place to sit and watch the world go by – maybe with an ice cream, sandwich or pork pie (we can help you out there...). In fact, call in at Hunters to pick up a picnic before you head out for the day, and we’ll happily pack you up a feast to remember!
The town holds regular events – including a lovely annual Christmas Tree Festival in December. To check out what’s on go to www.visithelmsley.co.uk
We look forward to seeing you soon!
